Drypoint is a printmaking technique in which an image is incised into a plate with a sharp stylus. In principle, the method is identical to engraving. The finished print has a soft richness which is unique to this method. The editions are small, sometimes as few as three, to retain the characteristics of this technique. The largest edition is about 12. The prints are later hand colored in with an ink wash so, no two prints are alike.
